| In Memoriam;

Fred Lester Jr. - January 1st, 1947 to April 6th, 2007
As a 22 year veteran of the Air Force, including being
stationed at Castle A.F.B., Fred and the Mariposa Hot Dog Den were a
perfect match for the Merced West Coast Antique Fly-In. Fred
could serve up a great hot dog quick and top it off with even
quicker wit.
Even in the weeks leading up to his passing, Fred was still
flirting with the girls and giving the guys a hard time. He
could take a stressful and sour situation and make it better for
everyone involved without "hurting any feelings", and at the same
time, leave us all laughing and with a smile in our hearts.
Fred, your wisdom, wit, generosity and kindness will be
missed, and it's only fitting that the tragic disease that you
suffered from is the one that we picked to fight with this years
fly-in. We promise to do all that we can to support the
American Cancer Society.
Our sympathies go to his loving wife Debbie, his children,
extended family and all those he touched that called him "my
friend". And now we pray that he can say "Oh I Have
Slipped The Surly Bonds of Earth... Put Out My Hand And Touched the
Face of God". |
