2007 Airshow

Since the air-show was re-introduced to the fly-in 3 years ago, it has been a huge success.  This year, the air-show has been expanded with several acts of daring, bravery and even drunkenness!

Eddie Andreini

Eddie Andreini started flying in an L-2 Taylorcraft while in high school at the age of 16. Today, he is a commercial instrument rated pilot and possesses an FAA aerobatics ground-level waiver. Eddie has accumulated 8000 plus hours flight time in a variety of aircraft and with more than 26 years of air show experience behind him, he is highly respected as the consummate professional in his mighty biplane. There are only a few pilots flying the big "bull" Stearman on the air show circuit, but there are none that can extract the thrilling performance from the huge 500 hp Pratt & Whitney-powered airplane like Eddie Andreini!

Rob "The Tumbling Bear" Harrison

Today, at the the controls of his sleek Zlin 50LX monoplane powered by a modified Lycoming AEI0-540-B4D5 engine, Claremont, CA resident Rob Harrison has come a long, long, LONG way from the 6-year-old along with his father in a Piper Cub, fearful of the plane's spinning motion.

"The Tumbling Bear" thrills onlookers with a series of awe-inspiring maneuvers. Looking out of control but always in full control with full action maneuvers no one else can do, see Rob tumble, twist and turn in ways you wouldn't think were even possible.

Bill Stein

Bill Stein has logged over 3,000 hours of aerobatic and formation flight. Bill began flying aerobatics when he was still a student pilot and has been dedicated to perfecting his skills ever since.  Since 1995 Bill has performed at air shows all across the United States and has entertained millions air show fans.

Bill’s passion for precision flying is evident in his dazzling air show routine.  He trains every day so that his skills stay razor sharp, and to maintain the all-out energy and excitement he puts into his air show sequence.  Bill’s experience includes competitive aerobatics and years of flying on the world famous Red Baron Stearman Squadron. Bill also gives back to the air show community by mentoring new air show pilots including coaching the “Stars of Tomorrow” team which have performed at many prestigious air shows including the EAA AirVenture Air Show.

Bill carries a Commercial Pilot Certificate with airplane multi-engine and single-engine instrument ratings. He has flown air shows in the Pitts Special, Globe Swift, Boeing Stearman, and in his current airplane: The state-of-the-art Zivko Edge 540.

Kyle Franklin

Franklin’s Flying Circus has one of the wildest and craziest comedy act in the air show business. Much different than your typical flying farmer routine, this dizzy drunk performance is truly a crowd pleaser. The effort and skill Kyle displays is amazing to say the least and the risky way that Matt, the “original pilot,” and Ryan try to stop him can get really crazy. Most pilots only drag a wingtip on the ground during a ground loop. Kyle Franklin does it for fun so often, that his Cub needs steal skid plates taped to the wingtips!! This is truly a show stealing act.

Ben Freelove

Since moving to California in 2001 to pursue his life long passion for aviation, Ben has logged over 3,000 hours in more than forty different types of aircraft. One of the San Francisco Bay areas most popular flight instructors, Ben has joined the Tutima Academy Team in order to continue his dream of flying aerobatics. He is a serious aerobatic competitor flying in the Advanced category.

Ken Erickson

Flying since the age of 14, Ken Erickson has quite literally grown up in aviation. Over the past 27 years he has flown more than 9,000 hours in a large variety of sailplanes and powered aircraft. He also holds an airframe and powerplant mechanic's rating with inspection authorization. He has flown in both aerobatic competition and air shows. Instructing, first in sailplanes, Ken has always enjoyed introducing people to the wonder of flight, and especially the thrill of aerobatics
